OUR
To unlock the potential in young people through discovery and adventure in the wild.
The Outward Bound Trust is an educational charity with a difference. We use the mountains, lakes, rivers and the sea as our classroom. We work with a huge range of young people and help them to develop essential life skills. Participants on an Outward Bound® course work together to overcome a series of challenges – in doing so they develop self-confidence, the ability to take risks and manage decisions, insights into teamwork, improved communication skills and the importance of compassion and tolerance.

The Outward Bound Trust is non-profit making, educational charity. Any surplus is ploughed back into the organisation, providing more courses for young people who would otherwise not have the opportunity. It is also completely socially inclusive, accessible to all young people, including those with disability or who experience disadvantage or exclusion. Our Patron is HRH The Duke of Edinburgh, KG KT and our Chairman is HRH The Duke of York, KG KCVO.
The mountains and the sea have provided the outdoor classroom for a million young people to benefit from Outward BoundÒ since its foundation in 1941. Activities such as rafting, hill climbing, sailing and gorge walking have helped us promote healthy living and the benefits of outdoors lifestyle to young people and also try to educate them about the impact that their lifestyle has on the environment.
The organisation has grown over 300% in the last 10 years and in the last three years alone, more than 40,000 young people have taken the challenge. In the next year a further 30,000 will complete the High Challenge Ropes Course, build a raft or abseil for the first time in their lives. Courses range from 2 day course to the three week Classic course. Courses can be for schools, groups or individuals.

Increased confidence is not the only effect of an Outward BoundÒ course. One of our partners, HSBC, is conducting a study in conjunction with
The first intention of stepUP Foundation is to educate and excite teenagers about the possibilities for their futures in business and in life and to deliver on key outcomes of creating empowerment, self worth, inspiration, renewed strength, tools, strategies and fun. The second intention of stepUP Foundation is for any adults associated with stepUP such as Foundation Members, Volunteers, Coaches, Speakers, even Suppliers and Sponsors to have breakthroughs in their own lives, create new opportunities for themselves or their businesses, learn new skills, establish new relationships and discover new possibilities professionally and personally.
Lastly, the final and fundamental intention of stepUP Foundation is to contribute to world peace. One person at a time. We do that by having Teens – who are our future leaders (the ones who will determine our future as a nation and a planet, our economic stability, world peace and more in the years to come) realize that someone from different circumstances than their own is really not so different after all, and their job, after having their own lives work, is to make a difference out there.

THE PPSN COMMUNITY SCHOOLPositive People with Skills Network (PPSN) was founded by a group of individuals that aim to Educate, Empower and Create Leadership within local communities through a series of initiatives.
The PPSN Community school initiative was created to provide a place where parents and children can go during the school holidays to be exposed to role models in their local community and to learn the skills needed to achieve success outcomes in the attainment of their future goals.
The PPSN Community School mission is to provide ambitious young people with a framework for success in their chosen arena by offering access to experts, life skills and practical experience, which is gained together with elder family members as a means of reinforcement and sustainability.
