by Napoleon Hill Andrew Carnegie was the Bill Gates of his day. He came to the Andrew Carnegie also had the reputation of having more millionaires working for him than any other employer of his time. Carnegie was fascinated with success and wanted to understand why some men became successful while others in very similar circumstances did not. So he commissioned Napoleon Hill to interview the nation's most successful men to find a success formula that would work for the common man. Hill interviewed 504 people, including Ford, Wrigley, Wanamaker, Eastman, Rockefeller, Edison, Woolworth, Darrow, Burbank, Morgan, Firestone, and three The process of conducting these interviews required an investment of twenty years of Napoleon Hill's life. Hill distilled his findings into a 13 step formula, which was published in 'THINK AND GROW RICH'. Napoleon speaks about these 13 things that constitute real wealth, money being the least important of these. Since Think And Grow Rich was first published in 1937, it has been used as a roadmap to achievement by countless individuals. As you may gather from the title, a premise of Think And Grow Rich is the starting place for wealth is in a person's 'THOUGHTS'. The source for most of today's motivational speakers remains THINK AND GROW RICH. This book really opens the mind to the true meaning of wealth and what constitutes its attainment. It definitely needs to be in your library. REVIEWED BY: Zulu Ogunro |
by George S. Clason Ever wished someone had educated you on the simple principles of money management? The simple rules that are introduced in ‘The Richest Man in Babylon’ make sense and would probably have made a huge difference to the number of people that are in debt today due to lack of financial education. The lessons in The Richest Man in Babylon unfold in a strategic and methodical way through a character called Arkad who delivers the rules of wealth creation (as well as wealth destruction). It is as much an inspiring story as it is an educational one. An old time classic that delivers the fundamentals from which many other books have stemmed. Rule number 1: You must save at least 10% of all your earnings. To learn all the other rules and to be taken back to the ancient babylonian days through dialogue and settings I urge you to choose this book as your teacher. I would suggest that it is more of a starting point for those that are new to this journey of personal/ financial development. Enjoy

THE ALCHEMIST By Paulo Coelho When I was introduced to this book I was delighted at it’s simple but highly effective story telling and the way that it sucked me in. The story is based on a boy called Santiago who gives up his daily life to follow his dream (literally). He is met by twists and turns that guide him on his way to realising that synchronisity happens to show you that you are either on track and on the path to your true destiny or not. Santiago meets many characters along the way who all help him in some way to move closer and closer to his dream; a crystal shop owner, an English man and an alchemist all show him that his dreams are worth fighting for and that "no heart has ever suffered when it goes in search of its dreams". The story takes the reader through a series of lessons that shows that they too have omens that have been guiding them and showing them their way just like our friend Santiago, but the real lesson is whether they noticed or if they were listening. This book amazed me at the way that it is so simple to read but so deep and brilliant when understood. In a nutshell this book tells you to go out and follow your dreams but to remember that they just might be where you left them...
